Coronary Artery Disease
The group conducts extensive research into both acute and chronic coronary artery diseases. We employ a variety of methods, including epidemiologically focused registry studies, prospective observational studies, randomised trials, experimental studies, advanced imaging, and laboratory experiments.
We study risk factors for the development of atherosclerosis, atherothrombotic complications, and impaired microcirculation in the coronary arteries. We investigate the diagnostic and prognostic significance of various methods and strategies, including biochemical markers, decision support, and echocardiography.
The impact of diabetes and chronic kidney failure, as well as their treatment in acute and chronic coronary artery disease, is examined. In patients with established coronary artery disease, we study prognostic factors and the effects of different treatments.
