Susanna Ranta team

My research focuses on toxicity during and after treatment of childhood leukemia, with the goal of reducing acute and long-term side effects. I am currently leading BRAIN-Sweden, a national study on acute neurotoxicity and late cognitive side effects after leukemia treatment. I am also involved in research on hemostasis in children with cancer, especially leukemia, and in children with hemophilia.

Our research group is based at Karolinska University Hospital and Karolinska Institutet and consists of clinically active physicians with specialist expertise in pediatric oncology, pediatric neurology and coagulation. The group's common goal is to improve the treatment and quality of life of children with cancer or hemophilia by increasing knowledge about treatment-related complications, and by refining diagnostics for bleeding disorders.
