Chronic inflammation with focus on rheumatology and cancer – Research group Per-Johan Jakobsson

Our research is focusing on the role of inflammation and specific immunity in the pathogenesis of chronic inflammatory diseases and cancer.

The group consists of several teams with separate research aims. The general aim of the group’s research is to understand the diseases on a molecular, genetic and clinical level, to find clinically relevant biomarkers, and to participate actively in the development of new treatment strategies. This is done by different means, including proteomics, lipidomics, metabolomics, genetics, cellular screening of biologically active novel substances, clinical studies and more.
