About me

  • I was born in 1972 in Stockholm Sweden. I studied medicine at Karolinska Institutet. I did my internship at S:t Görans Hospital. I did specialization training for Internal Medicine and Cardiology at Karolinska University Hospital. I defended my thesis in Cardiology in 2002. I performed a post-doc at Oxford University, UK in 2006. I have worked as a senior Interventional Cardiologist at Karolinska University Hospital, and now currently at Danderyd Hospital. Part of the time is devoted to resarch, financed by the Swedish Research Council, the Swedish Heart-Lung Foundation and Region Stockholm.

  • My interest has been in atherosclerosis and vascular function, to understand the mechanisms of why people develop heart disease and how we can help them. For the last years I have been more involved in clinical research, to try to find the best treatment strategies for patients wih heart attacks. I am the Principle Investigator for the multinational FULL REVASC study, where we investigate the best treatment strategy for patients with myocardial infarction and multivessel disease.
