Lung-brain Axis – Lara Kular's team

The overall goal of the Lung-brain Axis team is to unravel the molecular mechanisms along the lung-brain axis that underlie the impact of smoking in the development and severity of neuroinflammatory diseases like Multiple Sclerosis.

Lung-brain Axis

Our research is embedded in a highly collaborative and dynamic research center: Karolinska Neuroimmunology and Multiple Sclerosis (KNIMS) network.

By leveraging the potential of multi-omics, centered on epigenetics, and causal approaches in molecular, cellular and experimental neuroimmunology, we aim to better understand, monitor and treat neuroinflammatory and neurodegenerative disorders.
