Hand surgery – Research group of the department for Hand Surgery

Our research group covers a wide range of areas within the specialty with a strong clinical focus. In the research we study the entire care process from diagnostics to surgery and postoperative rehabilitation. The latter takes place in the hand surgery departments at integrated specialised rehabilitation units.

The Hand Surgery department at Södersjukhuset is the only specialist clinic in the region and the research group conducts research in several areas. In hand surgery, injuries and illnesses are treated throughout the upper extremity and in all age groups from infants to old people. The conditions treated and researched cover all different tissues in the hand and arm; Nerves, vessels, tendons and muscles, skin and bones.
