Our expert team evaluates new and existing health technologies, including medical devices, diagnostic methods, treatment procedures, and organizational systems. We employ a rigorous, systematic methodology to assess the evidence of benefits and harms associated with these technologies. The assessments can also encompass cost-effectiveness, ethical implications such as effects on equity, as well as social and organizational impacts.
Our organization
We are part of the Center for Health Economics, Informatics and Healthcare Research – Centrum för hälsoekonomi, informatik och sjukvårdsforskning (CHIS) – within Stockholm Health Care Services - Stockholms läns landsting (SLSO), under Region Stockholm. Our primary work is on behalf of the Health and Medical Care Administration – Hälso- och sjukvårdsförvaltningen (HSF) – of Region Stockholm, but we are also able to undertake projects for other public sector entities. As a university healthcare unit, CHIS conducts high-quality research at both national and international levels, offers top-tier education, and contributes to evidence-based healthcare by applying our research findings to practical care while continuously evaluating both established and new methods.
