Strategic Research Programme in Diabetes (SRP Diabetes)
SRP Diabetes is based on several different research groups at Karolinska Institutet and Umeå University. An integrated research environment in the diabetes area has been formed where results are translated between basic and clinical science with the aim to improve the care and treatment of people with diabetes.

SRP Diabetes PI Lisa Juntti-Berggren is awarded the Swedish Society of Medicine's Jubilee Prize 2023 for her studies on Apolipoprotein CIII and diabetes mellitus.
Eye implant may be used to treat diabetes
SRP Diabetes PI Per-Olof Berggren and collaborators have developed a microscale device for implantation in the eye, which presents new opportunities for cell-based treatment of diabetes and other diseases
