SRP Diabetes Bridging Grant
This new grant supports competitive younger/midstage Principal Investigators (PIs) who, after application to a competitive international or national grant in the diabetes and metabolism field, scored among the best but in the end was not awarded the grant. The bridging grant should help them continue their ground-breaking research and encourage them to apply again for the same or similar competitive grants hopefully succeeding next time.

Eligible to apply
Principal Investigator affiliated to KI (minimum 50% at KI) with internationally competitive research in the field of diabetes and/or metabolism. The PI should have applied to a highly competitive funding programme such as ERC Starting Grant or ERC Consolidator Grant, KAW Fellows, SSF Framtidens Forskningsledare or another highly competitive established national or international funding agency with a multistep international evaluation process including an interview with grades. The PI must have been invited to an interview where they received a high grade but, in the end, did not get funded, and should not already have received a competitive starting grant from another funding agency.
GRANT SIZE: sum up to 50% of a one-year budget of the applied grant and maximally 1.5 MSEK.
The applicant should have received the negative decision from the funding agency in the period of January 1 to December 31, 2024.
