Dr Nicole Woods is a scientist & Associate Director of Operations at the University Health Network in Toronto and was recently appointed as a director at the Institute for Education Research.
As a cognitive psychologist she is interested in the mental representation of diagnostic categories, how different forms of knowledge are used in problem-solving, and how education supports the cognitive architecture necessary for practice.
Her work examines the role of basic science knowledge in clinical reasoning and the development of medical expertise.
