Education, Outreach and Networking support 2026
The SFO provides funding for education, outreach and networking activities at Karolinska Institutet (KI) based on scope, quality, and the potential to strengthen and develop the field.
Seminar series
StratRegen Seminar Series
The Seminar Series provides a platform for researchers in stem cells and regenerative medicine to connect, exchange ideas, and stay updated on the latest methodologies. The series connects internal seminars giving PhD students and PostDocs the chance to show their projects and discuss their achievements with leading external speakers to share innovative approaches in the field.
The seminars take place on Wednesdays 12:00-13:00 with possibilities to join both in Solna and Flemingsberg.
Contact: Elif Eroglu, Enric Llorens, Daniel Holl, Evelien Eenjes
HERM seminar series
The seminar series of the Center for Hematology and Regenerative Medicine (HERM) has been an important meeting platform since 2012. The seminars are given by reputable and outstanding national and international experts in the field of hematopoiesis, cancer, immunology, and regenerative medicine.
The seminars take place on Mondays 12:00-13:00 in NEO, Flemingsberg.

Courses, Conferences, Symposia
Developing Brain/s 2026 - Course/Symposium
The Developing Brains course and symposium has now been held 12 years in a row and is an important link between neuroscience, developmental biology, stem cell and regenerative medicine. It gathers leading scientists, local and international, working on critical questions and using state-of-the-art technologies to better understand how the nervous system develop and how to devise strategies for its repair in adult.

Genome Engineering and Stem Cells in Regenerative Medicine Symposium
The one-day symposium bringing together leading European and American principal investigators to share the latest advances in regenerative and gene-editing technologies. The event will focus on stem cell–based regeneration, emerging CRISPR technologies, and computational approaches for analyzing complex perturbation datasets to drive next-generation regenerative therapies.

KI ReproNet - Network, Conference and Webinars
KI ReproNet’s mission is to address the growing reproductive challenges in society through a multidisciplinary approach. The planned eight annual webinars will focus on reparative, regenerative, and stem cell-based applications in reproductive sciences and will include speakers from KI and beyond. The symposium will be held in autumn.

Medical Developmental Biology - Course
The main purpose of the course is to acquire a better understanding of issues, including ethical ones, in developmental and stem cell biology with direct implications for human development and disease. Furthermore, the course will expose the students to international collaboration and provide an opportunity to build an international network.
The course syllabus has been developed to provide a broad-based interdisciplinary training for graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, clinical fellows, and residents in the area of regenerative stem cell and developmental biology, with both fundamental and translational perspectives.
The annual exchange course between Karolinska Institutet and University of Toronto will take place for 28th time in 2026.
