Third Swedish Diabetes Summit

Given the success of the two earlier Swedish Diabetes Summit in Lund and Gothenburg, we are now very pleased to invite you to Stockholm and Karolinska Institutet for the third Swedish symposium on diabetes related research. We have an exciting program with several recognized speakers representing 7 different Swedish universities and many international guests.

Who can attend?

This symposium is targeted to Swedish academic and industrial researchers performing both preclinical and/or clinical research within diabetes. Clinically active medical doctors/health care personnel and patient organization representatives could also benefit from the meeting.

Programme Committee

All Swedish universities with medical faculty take part as well as AstraZeneca, the only pharmaceutical company with substantial research activities in the area in Sweden.

Registration

Participation for academic researchers and researchers from small-sized companies (below 50 employees) is free of charge on a first come first serve basis.

Participants from companies with 50 or more employees: a fee of 2 000 SEK is charged to cover the actual costs for the participant.

Submitting Abstracts

Participants are very welcome to present posters! Deadline to submit abstracts is September 23. There will be a dedicated poster session in the evening of Thursday 15th of November during the buffet dinner when posters are to be presented.

Two of the abstracts submitted to the poster session will be selected for a short (10 min) oral presentation on Thursday 15th of November. Presenting authors will be notified well in advance of the meeting.

Abstract details:

The abstract/summary text should give in a maximum of 300 words, using Times New Roman 12 pt:

• the aims of the study

• briefly what type of methods that were used

• major results and conclusions

Preceding the abstract/summary text should be:

• the title in bold (max 25 words) at the top

• a list of all contributing authors directly under the title, where the presenting author should have his/her name underlined

• a list of author affiliations (Department and University/Institute) directly under the author list

NOTE: avoid abbreviations and make sure any special characters are saved correctly in your file as we cannot make corrections in your text afterwards.

Write your abstract according to the guidelines above and save as a word file (pdf not accepted!) named as:

• your first name_your last name_SDS2018

Travel information

Karolinska Institutet Solna campus is easily reached from Arlanda airport by Airport Coaches ("Flygbussarna") on route Arlanda - Liljeholmen which stops at Karolinska University Hospital Solna at stop “Karolinska Sjukhuset Eugeniavägen” which is directly opposite Karolinska Institute and the venue.

From Stockholm city center there are several buses towards the new Karolinska University Hospital/Karolinska Institutet Solna or one can grab the underground route 19 towards Hässelby Strand and get off at station Sankt Eriksplan (exit Torsgatan) and walk 500 m further north on Torsgatan-Solnavägen. 

Accomodation
