Nephrology at KI DS

Research in nephrology at KI DS focuses on the mechanisms underlying acute and chronic kidney disease, with a particular emphasis on glomerulonephritis and IgA nephropathy. Through clinical and translational research, the team studies disease progression, complications, biomarkers and personalised treatment, with the aim of improving diagnosis, prognosis and care for people with kidney disease.

Research focus

The clinical research areas in which we are involved include, amongst others, clinical immunology, rheumatology, cardiology, endocrinology, tumour biology, gastrointestinal surgery and transplant surgery. We also collaborate with Sofiahemmet University.
