Trauma – Max Gordon's research group

Trauma research focuses on improving care for patients who have suffered accidents and fractures. The aim is to reduce complications, accelerate recovery, and increase survival rates. The research is based on both clinical studies conducted at Danderyd Hospital and national registry data.

We collaborate with national and international research groups to drive forward developments in modern orthopaedic care.

Among other things, we study:

  • How different fracture treatments work, for example in the case of shoulder, hip and femur fractures.
  • How we can reduce the risk of infections and other complications following surgery.
  • Factors that influence the prognosis for older patients who suffer a fracture
  • New surgical techniques and care processes that can enable patients to return to their everyday lives more quickly.
