Equal rights at KBH

The Karolinska Institutet Widerströmska Equal Rights Network (WERN) works to promote equality and tackle discrimination throughout different Departments at KI.

At the moment, the WERN is constituted by the equal treatment representatives at the Department of Clinical Neuroscience, the Department of Global Public Health, the Department of Children’s and Women’s Health, and the Department of Learning, Informatics, Management and Ethics at KI. We also maintain a close link with the central Equal Opportunities team at KI.

The WERN regularly organizes seminars in the topic of equality in academia and society at large and participates in equality-related events at the KI-level.

Work Environment

The work environment group at KBH manages a proactive and systematic work environment task.

The work environment group meets at least twice a semester and supports the department head in conducting safety inspections, preparing action plans for the work environment and in being the link between the Department, the Work Environment Committee, the Employer Health Care and the Student Health Care at KI.

The group’s chairman is also the Department’s representative in KI environmental and sustainable development group.

The collaboration is that it is part of creating a sustainable everyday life, with a sustainable working life where the business is in focus. Collaboration is the practical tool for creating participation and influence,

Presentation from the collaboration and institutional council (KBH SIR) is sent out to everyone with a delegation (research group leader) immediately after the meetings.
