The midwifery programme

The midwifery program consists of three semesters (90 credits). Each semester deepens your knowledge and skills in sexual, reproductive and perinatal health. Approximately 50% of the program consists of on-the-job training in activities relevant to the midwife, such as the maternity clinic, aftercare department, gynecological practice, midwifery clinic and youth clinic. During your final semester, you will write a thesis at master's level in sexual, reproductive and perinatal health.

Complementary education for midwives with a degree from a country outside the EU/EEA (KUB)

The program consists of two semesters. The first semester (spring semester) consists of theoretical courses where you learn the basics of the Swedish midwifery profession. The second semester (autumn semester) consists largely of practice, so-called work-based education (VFU). Then you get practical training in working as a midwife at various clinics and receptions.

After completed, approved training, you can apply for Swedish midwifery identification.

The specialist nursing programme - Paediatric Care

The programme prepares for work in children's healthcare, child health care, student health medical interventions and child habilitation. As a specialist nurse specializing in children and young people, you have, among other things, responsibility for ensuring that all decisions concerning the child are made based on the best interests of the child. It is also important that you can make the child feel safe in the care situation.
