Cardiovascular Medicine Research at KI DS

Cardiology works with a process-oriented approach for each disease area, and our research follows this principle. We place great emphasis on close collaboration and interaction between our research groups, as well as cooperation with other researchers both nationally and internationally.

The research conducted within cardiovascular medicine, as well as the hospital’s cardiology department, aims to:
•    Carry out clinically important, unique research of international top quality;
•    Focus on common, serious, and treatable disease groups;
•    Employ innovative methods and technologies.
Our research groups (arrhythmia, heart failure, haemostasis and thrombosis, coronary artery disease, vascular medicine, and hypertension) are presented under research groups.
The person responsible for research in cardiovascular medicine and for the cardiology department is Professor Tomas Jernberg.
