Cytell allows easily to image samples on slides, petri dishes, T-flasks, and microplates. Compatible reagents and kits from GE Healthcare Life Sciences are available, although it is possible to create your own customized protocols based on own preferred reagents. The on-board BioApps are pre-configured software modules that guide through all the steps from imaging and data acquisition through to data analysis, visualization, and report generation. Following BioApps are available:

Digital Imaging - Acquire fluorescence and transmitted light images of samples in plates, flasks, Petri dishes, or slides;
Automated Imaging - Automatically acquire high-quality fluorescence and transmitted light images from an entire microplate;
Quick Count - Obtain accurate cell counts and viability and concentration estimations based on fluorescence intensity using a disposable hemocytometer;
Cell Cycle - Analyze cell cycle phase distribution in multi-well format using a DNA-binding fluorophore;
Cell Viability - Run two- or three-color assays in multi-well formats with subpopulation gating to determine the percentages of live, dead, and non-viable cells;
Apoptosis - Run two- or three-color assays in multi-well formats with subpopulation gating to determine the percentage of live, dead, and apoptotic cells.
