High Content Systems

If you have live cells and need automated imaging for your research you are welcome to become one of our users. As a user you have access to our six different systems within this category of imaging techniques.

ZEISS Axio Scan.Z1 Digital Slide Scanner

The Axio Scan Z1 is a high throughput automated slide scanner which can process up to 100 slides in a single imaging session.  This instrument is capable of multichromatic fluorescence imaging as well as brightfield imaging with colourmetric detection using high resolution air objectives.

Satorius IncuCyte S3

Long-term imaging inside a cell culture incubator, multiwell plates, transmitted light, GFP/RFP fluorescence.

Mol. Devices ImageXpress Pico

The ImageXpress Pico cellular imaging system from MolecularDevices is a fully-integrated hardware and software system for automated acquisition and cellular analysis of images for high content imaging. This system allows imaging of samples on slides and in multi-well plates of various sizes (incl. 96, 384 wells) with different fluorescent channels (DAPI, FITC, CY3, CY5) at different magnifications (4x, 10x, 20x, 40x). The ImageXpress Pico is also equipped for transmitted light/colorimetric imaging. Images can be automatically analyzed for many different parameters using pre-made application modules (multi-wavelength cell scoring, count nuclei, live/dead, translocation, mitotic index, cell cycle, granularity, neurite outgrowth etc) and customized protocols. The system has a temperature controlled environment, allowing time-lapse imaging of living cells in CO2-independent medium.

  • Software: Web-browser based CellReporterXpress, can be accessed within KI staff / eduroam WIFI connection.
