The Ethics unit at LIME teaches and conducts research in clinical medical ethics and medical research ethics. We also contribute to Karolinska Institutet's internal ethics work. The Ethics unit is part of the Stockholm Centre for Healthcare Ethics, a collaboration between KTH, Stockholm University and Karolinska Institutet.

Training for Medical Researchers in Medical Ethics
There are still spots available for the training in medical ethics for medical researchers. The training aims to provide participants with knowledge of important research ethical theories and principles and to convey skills in identifying and reflecting on ethical aspects of research. The training is conducted online and does not award credits, but serves as professional development in research ethics.
Project "The Best Interests of the Child?"
The project "The Best Interests of the Child? Ethical, Legal, and Empirical Investigations of Social Service Decisions on Visitation Restrictions" is underway and highlights social workers' decision-making regarding visitation rights for children and their guardians. The study aims to lay the foundations for practical support in decisions about visitation restrictions.
The project is led by Ulrik Kihlbom, professor of medical ethics at LIME at Karolinska Institutet, and will run for two years. In Swedish.
Available places in Doctoral Course This Autumn
Course 3073, Philosophy of Science and the Concept of Health, has available places for the autumn. The course is conducted in English, and you need to be a registered doctoral student to attend.

The Ethics unit at KI has completed a webpage with relevant information and the most important links about ethics education, tips and advice, and various instances within medical ethics.

Stockholm Centre for Healthcare Ethics
The Ethics unit at LIME at Karolinska Institutet collaborates with philosophers at the Royal Institute of Technology and Stockholm University within the Stockholm Centre for Healthcare Ethics.
