Injury and Repair in the Immature Brain – Blomgren group

Our research is aimed at developing protective treatments and strategies to promote regeneration after injury to the developing brain.

.

We focus primarily on two types of brain injuries, those that occur around birth and those that occur after radiation therapy (cancer treatment). Rehabilitation after brain injuries in children is an area where current research clearly shows that there is great potential for improvement. If we can limit the consequences of brain injuries, we can limit the suffering of the child and its family. We can also reduce the socioeconomic burden on society.
