BEA - FAQs

This section contains questions and answers that are frequently asked by our customers.

When can I deliver my samples?

  • Always contact BEA before delivering samples.
  • Samples may be delivered Monday to Friday, 09:00–16:00. Please ensure someone is available to receive them.
  • Samples can also be delivered with the the KI Solna-Huddinge shuttle service. See KI shuttle timetable.
  • We are closed on national holidays.

Do you run QC on my samples?

All samples will undergo Quality Control using either the Agilent Bioanalyzer or Agilent Tapestation. If your samples appear questionable or do not match the information you provided, we will reach out to you before moving forward. Should you choose to have your sample processed without meeting standard requirements, we will proceed and invoice you based on the work performed, including cases where the samples yield poor data.

When will the data be ready?

Results are typically available 6–8 weeks after sample delivery, though timelines may vary based on sample volume and workload. RNA/DNA quality control is completed within a few days, and library sequencing services take 1–2 weeks.

How long are samples and data available?

Customers must collect any remaining samples and data within 12 months, as they will be disposed of afterwards. While raw data is stored temporarily, the BEA core facility is not responsible for storing preprocessed or analyzed data. It is strongly encouraged that remaining samples are picked-up after project completion.

What Data Analysis is provided?

Raw data undergoes routine processing for quality control. Typically, clients request processed data in FASTQ or Excel formats. Standard bioinformatic analyses are conducted for each project. Please refer to the Data Analysis section for additional details.
