Research area

General medicine investigates and treats the most common diseases across all age categories. Prevention is a key element of the general practitioner's work. In socioeconomically disadvantaged areas with high immigrant populations, diseases such as diabetes, and psychological problems, are common.

Per Wändell's research aims to uncover illness patterns in different immigrant populations, identify the most effective treatments, and determine the best way for the healthcare system to reach patients in order to implement preventive measures.
