About the Division of Anaesthesia and Intensive Care

We teach and do research around the treatment of patients undergoing mostly advanced and major surgery as well as patients that are treated in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for life-threatening complications often leading to organ failure.

The Division of Anaesthesia and Intensive Care is led by Professor Olav Rooyackers who is also Head of Unit at the clinical research unit PMI Huddinge.

The focus for the Tuesday’s lunch seminar is presentation of research and reports from conferences and courses. Researchers from other departments and hospitals are also invited to the seminar to present their research.

The focus of this meeting is more on the planning of research and the discussion of the results. Planned, ongoing and completed research projects performed at our unit or in collaboration with others are presented at the meeting. Research project from the residence and master's projects are presented and discussed.
