Participation in daily activities in everyday life after stroke - Developing and evaluating a model for a person-centred ICT based rehabilitation intervention
The research program intends to develop knowledge about how mobile phones or tablets can be integrated into a global interdisciplinary rehabilitation model for persons with stroke and their families.
The rapid development of information and communication technologies (ICT) and the integration of ICT in everyday life create opportunities for new interventions in health care. The long term goal of the project is to develop a model for person-centred, interdisciplinary rehabilitation for people after stroke with the support of ICT. The research program is conducted in different cultures (Sweden, Denmark and Uganda) with diverse traditions of using the technology and within subgroups of persons with stroke.
Aim
The aim is to certify continuity in the rehabilitation process, and enable daily activities and participation in everyday life among people with stroke and their significant others.
Design
An experience based design approach will be used, which involves users and professionals working together throughout the development process as the co-designers of the intervention. Instruments will be translated and culturally adapted. The program contains both qualitative and quantitative studies.
