How to become a doctoral student at LIME

To become a doctoral student at the department of the department of Learning, Informatics, Management and Ethics (LIME) at Karolinska Institutet, you start by applying for one or more of the announced doctoral projects. For questions regarding the doctoral education position you may contact the contact person in the advertisement.

If you have your own funding in form of an external scholarship or you are a medical doctor employed at one of the hospitals, you can still apply for any of the announced projects; and you can also try to establish contact with a research group on your own. Find contact information on relevant pages of our LIME web page. If the scholarship has been acquired in competition with others the project might not have to be announced.

KI wants to recruit the best candidates. Even if you have managed to establish contact with a research group it is in the end the Head of the department that decides on admission to doctoral education.

Rules for doctoral education at Karolinska Institutet, Dnr 1-8/2020, paragraph 2.5: Admission towards a licentiate degree: "Doctoral students shall, as a rule, be admitted with a doctoral degree as their goal.
