Education at the Division of Psychology

The psychology program

The psychology program started in the fall of 2007 and it is the first psychology program in Sweden that's given at a medical faculty. Attending the program leads to a degree in psychology as well as the competence that, together with a year of internship, is needed for a psychologist license in Sweden according to the demands issued by the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare. The program takes place over five years and contains both theoretical courses and practical work. The goal of the psychology program at Karolinska Institutet is to educate psychologists with a broad set of skills within psychology and a special preparedness to take part in and develop health and medical work in the society.
