Research
We conduct research within 22 research groups; Breast Surgery, Diagnostic Radiology, Endocrine Surgery, Sports Medicine, Integrative Physiology, Surgical Care Science, Clinical Physiology, Clinical Genetics, Clinical Chemistry and Blood Coagulation, Colorectal Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Inborn Errors of Endocrinology and Metabolism, Orthopaedics, Reconstructive Plastic Surgery, Signaltransduction, Rare Diseases, Thoracic Surgery, Growth and Metabolism, Translational Psychiatry, Urology, Upper GI Surgery.
The research group leaders are responsible for postgraduate education, research, personnel, work environment and finances. At MMK we continuously identify and recruit new research groups tof importance to our organisation.
Education
Undergraduate studies
Undergraduate studies are performed at most of the MMK units, comprised of:
- Study Programme in Medicine at term 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 10
- Clinical Rotation in Surgery for Exchange Students (LINK)
- Supervision of medical student projects
- Elective courses (SVK)
- Study Programme in Physiotherapy term 3
- Freestanding courses
- Commissioned education
In addition, we give teachings in:
- Study programme in Biomedicine
- BMA Programme
Postgraduate studies
The MMK department offers postgraduate studies in several fields of research in Medical Science. There are currently around 150 PhD candidates registered at the department.
