KI Biobank Core Facility, located at KI Campus Solna, is a modern and high-tech infrastructure for pre-analytical handling, storage and distribution of human biological samples. We provide services for collection, handling, storage and traceability of biobank samples and support customers both within and outside of Karolinska Institutet.

On July 1, 2023, a new Biobank Act came into force. The new law, like the previous one, regulates how identifiable human biological material, while respecting the integrity of the individual, may be collected, preserved and used for ethical purposes.
