Multimorbidity in Youth: Register and Interview-Based Analysis of Adolescent Substance use Disorders (MYRIAD)
The MYRIAD research project aims to increase our understanding of how substance use disorders co-occur with other psychiatric conditions in adolescence, how this affects the youth and their families and what gaps can be addressed to improve existing support.
The project seeks to fill current knowledge gaps by elucidating:
- The epidemiological landscape: This phase aims to establish a robust foundation for understanding the magnitude, onset and subsequent progression of psychiatric disorders and their impact on young people´s life-course trajectories.
- The family perspective: Understanding how families are affected, will contribute to developing a more holistic understanding of the support needs, and societal challenges.
- The stakeholder standpoints: Expanding upon our findings involves identifying gaps and opportunities for enhancing existing systems
