For parents
Becoming a parent is one of life’s greatest transitions—filled with joy, anticipation, and sometimes worry. How can we best support our children’s well-being, development, and health right from the start?
Within the research program Lika Liten we explore various ways to promote children's health — from pregnancy through the first five years of life. We focus on both broad and individual interventions for all families and parents.
Our goal is to provide you, as a parent, with tools and knowledge to ensure a safe and healthy start for your child.
We work to:
- Strengthen the parenting role. By researching evidence-based parenting strategies and methods, we aim to help you feel confident in your parenthood and ensure you receive the support you need.
- Listen to parents' experiences. Parents’ perspectives are important to us. We develop and tailor interventions based on the needs and wishes of families.
- Promote children's mental health. When you, as a parent, receive the right support, your child can build a stronger foundation for their well-being and development.
We collaborate with primary care services, Region Stockholm, and civil society to create interventions that are accessible, relevant, and can make a real difference for the well-being of young children and the health of the entire family.
Currently, several studies are underway that you can read more about on this site. However, we do not recruit participants for research studies through the website. If you, as a parent, have questions about your child or child development, we recommend that you contact your nearest healthcare provider or child health center.
