Swedish Prevention of Alcohol use in caRdiovascular Care (SPARC)

Cardiovascular disease is one of the most common causes of death in Sweden. Reduced alcohol use among patients with cardiovascular disease is associated with improved outcomes and reduced mortality.

There is a lack of knowledge of alcohol prevention specifically targeting cardiology. The overarching aim is to study the feasibility of preventive alcohol interventions in cardiology services in hospital settings.

The project is conducted in collaboration between three regions:

Region Gävleborg, Region Dalarna and Region Stockholm.
