Through the IMS Young Investigator Awards, the International Myeloma Society provides travel grants to young myeloma researchers to assist with expenses relating to their participation at the19th International Myeloma Society Annual Meeting, August 25-27, 2022, Los Angeles, California.

Katharina Susek and Maria Karvouni, PhD students at Karolinska Institutet were awarded the IMS Young Investigator Award for Exemplary Abstract for the following abstract, respectively:

  • PD1-based chimeric-switch receptor expressing NK cells recover from immune checkpoint inhibition in cancer
  • Exploring the feasibility of CD38-targeting CAR-NK therapy for Multiple Myeloma by harnessing features of cytokine-expanded NK cells
