Two projects awarded Network for Movement and Physical Function seeding grants
The Network for Movement and Physical Function is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2026 Network Seeding Grants.
The Network Steering Board has awarded 75,000 SEK to two research projects. The grants are intended to support the development of new research ideas and collaborations within movement and physical function, and to generate preliminary data that can contribute to future research and external funding applications. We look forward to following the progress of both projects and hearing about their findings at the Network's annual retreat in 2027.

Preserving muscle during weight loss: effects of incretin-based obesity treatment on muscle mass and physical function
This project investigates how incretin-based obesity treatments affect skeletal muscle mass and physical function, and whether resistance training can help preserve muscle during pharmacological weight loss. The project combines clinical, functional and molecular assessments to better understand muscle adaptations during obesity treatment and identify strategies to protect physical function.

This project investigates the relationship between motor impairment, inflammation and metabolic health in young people with cerebral palsy, and whether adapted physical activity can improve these biological profiles. By combining molecular analyses with a supervised adapted physical activity intervention, the project aims to better understand how exercise may support health in people with more severe mobility limitations.
