Remote occupational therapy for patients with COPD
New research shows how the Internet can be used in occupational therapy for people with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
Tina Helles, a postdoc at the Division of Occupational and a researcher in CACTUS research group hopes that her research will help to improve quality of life and create a meaningful life for people with COPD. The research project focuses on the daily life (ADL). Hopefully it will lead to the posibilities for patiens with COPD to be independent from other people's help as well as the fact that the disease characterizes daily life as little as possible.
The overall objective of the project is to develop and investigate effects of two types of patient-centered ADL interventions for people with COPD: Internet Medicine (teleADL) and conventional (face to face). The project will develop knowledge and experience that can be transferred to other chronics groups such as heart failure or diabetes.
