Interdisciplinary Policy Conference: Algorithmic Management of Work and Health

AI and algorithms are changing working life in profound ways. When digital systems take over work management functions, work tasks, organizational structures as well as the work environment are affected.

Carin Håkansta's research group at Karolinska Institutet is now hosting a conference to share the latest research on how algorithmic control of work affects the work environment and health, factors that affect this connection and how different interest groups look at and act in relation to the phenomenon.

Based on studies and other relevant research, the participants of the conference will develop policy and action proposals in dialogue that ensure a good working environment when using algorithmic control.

  • When: 12 November 2024 at 10.00-16.00
  • Where: In Stockholm, the exact location to be announced in August.
  • Language: The conference will be held in English and Swedish.
  • Cost: Participation in the conference is free of charge, participants are responsible for any travel and accommodation.
  • Target groups: Researchers active in the field, representatives from trade unions and employers' organizations, representatives from relevant authorities, and representatives from tech companies that develop the software used in algorithmic control. The number of participants is limited.
