Internationalisation at the Department of Dental Medicine

Karolinska Institutet is consistently ranked as one of the top Universities in the world in the subject of dentistry. This is the reflection of the academic rigor and international resonance of the Department of Dental Medicine. International cooperation in education and research is a core value of the Department´s mission and a key driver for our academic goals and performance.

The Internationalization Group is a task force commissioned by the Executive Board of the Department. It´s goal is to overarch the Department´s formal agreements with Institutions abroad and international cooperations, in terms of academic themes, educational programs and global regions. Our international cooperative activities involve student/staff exchanges in undergraduate dental and oral health/dental hygienist education as well as postgraduate research, with a geographic coverage from Europe to the Americas, Asia, Africa and Oceana.

The Internationalization Group consists of Prof. Nagihan Bostanci (Group Chair and Head of International Affairs), Prof. Georgios Belibasakis (Head of Research), Dr. Karin Garming-Legert (Head of Education), Prof. Anders Gustafsson (former VP of KI), Dr. Sebastian Malmqvist (Director of the Study Programme in Dental Hygiene), Jonas Erdenborg (International Academic Exchange Coordinator for the Dental Hygiene Programme), Mae Suliman (International Academic Exchange Coordinator for the Dentistry Programme), Moa Lärfars (Assisting International Academic Exchange Coordinator for the Dentistry Programme).
