Access to Data
We invite research collaborations based on STODS. Researchers and doctoral students, in Sweden and abroad, are invited to explore opportunities for sub-studies within the STODS framework. STODS data can also form the basis for a doctoral thesis.
Aligned with the principles of open science, we are dedicated to providing access to STODS data for researchers both nationally and internationally, while rigorously safeguarding the privacy of research participants. Access to data is granted following the conditions stipulated in our ethical approval and the confidentiality assessments conducted by the relevant authorities. We implement rigorous procedures for data security and access, which are regularly reviewed in collaboration with involved researchers, as we regard confidentiality and security as continuous and evolving responsibilities.
Researchers, doctoral students, and master students conducting sub-studies within the STODS framework, may gain access to STODS data in two ways:
1. On-site access: Working with a customized dataset using computers at the premises of Division of Insurance Medicine, Karolinska Institutet.
2. Remote analysis support: Receiving assistance with carrying out analyses by STODS project staff and the results being delivered at a group level.
For both options, a study protocol approved by the project management is always required to ensure that the sub-study meets the ethical and legal requirements of the STODS project. The lead researcher of the sub-study is responsible for covering the costs associated with the statistician’s time for study-specific data extraction and/or analysis. The hourly rate ranges between SEK 485–700 (plus INDI), depending on the type of project.
