The XXIst Cancer Research KI Retreat
The XXIst Cancer Research KI retreat takes place September 23-24, 2024 at Djurönäset in the Stockholm archipelago, gathering Cancer Researchers from Karolinska Institutet and University Hospital for an annual joint scientific meeting. Please read more about the XXIst edition below.
About
The retreat is open for all KI students, post-docs and supervisors with an interest in cancer research and in the Cancer Research KI program, its current and future activities.
The program will include invited international keynote lectures and presentations of exciting research projects in cancer biology, clinical cancer research, cancer care research and cancer epidemiology. Many short talks are selected from abstracts - be sure to submit yours on time! The popular and lively poster session will also be back!

Registration
The event is fully booked, however you can register yourself to the waiting list via this link or by contacting us via email.
A registration fee of 1000 SEK (excl. VAT) will be charged to cover part of costs for housing (students have to share room) and meals, also including bus transport from the Stockholm Cityterminal to Djurönäset and back. The remaining costs are sub-sidized by the PhD-program FoTO and Cancer Research KI.
Please note that due to popular demand, it will be first come first serve basis and the registration will close once we are at full capacity (even if it is before the registration deadline). Therefore we advise you to register as soon as possible to secure your place at the retreat.
Abstract submission
Everyone is encouraged to present a poster or to apply for a slot for a short talk (10 minutes). You can find the instructions for abstract submission here, please send the abstract to cancerresearchki@ki.se.
Poster size
The poster boards provided by the hotel are 72 cm x 180 cm. For the poster size please use B1 (70x100 cm) and make sure it is in Vertical/ Portrait /Stående orientation.
Cancellation or change of name
Cancellation of Registration
Cancellations should be made in writing to the conference secretariat. If you cancel a still unpaid registration, you will be charged a cancellation fee of SEK 250.
Cancellations made by 16 August, 2024, the total amount will be refunded except for the cancellation fee, SEK 250. Cancellations made after 16 August, 2024 will not be refunded.
Cancellation of only separate activities or meals is not refundable.
Change of Name
Should you be unable to attend, you will be given the opportunity to send someone in your place at no extra cost. If this should be the case, please contact the conference administration office, Academic Conferences at CRKIretreat2024@akademikonferens.se.
