Cancer Research KI - Strategy

This page lists the Cancer Research KI strategic operative goals for 2025 – 2026 which were decided by the CRKI executive board in 2024.

Main CRKI Strategic Operative Goals for 2025 – 2026

The overarching CRKI strategy is the general strategy for the whole Karolinska Comprehensive Cancer Center (KCCC), covering 2024-2030, which can be found here. In addition, the Executive Board of CRKI took a decision in 2024 on the following strategic operative goals for 2025-2026.

1. Maintain most of the activities and the structure of CRKI as already established, including our operations through working groups, retreats, workshops, collaborations and diverse grant announcements.

2. Increase the initiatives for informal meetings and networking.

3. Increase the efforts for a strengthened data infrastructure and biobank usage for clinical and translational research.

4. Identify cancer research areas at CRKI that are the strongest. Map the impact of publications, number of groups, translational collaborations between basic scientists and the clinic, etc. Use these data to maintain an updated CRKI website, enable up-to-date annual reports, and to strengthen applications for additional funding.

5. Evaluate further possibilities to support CRKI researchers during all phases of the researcher career.

6. Increase the involvement of patient representatives in all aspects of CRKI activities.

7. Take further strategic contacts with different funding bodies supporting cancer research, aiming for possible joint overarching initiatives in support of CRKI activities.

8. Further strengthen our national as well as international network activities, such as throughout Sweden, with different EU initiatives, US-Sweden collaborations, and more.
