Parasitology Division
The Parasitology Division consists of independent research groups and teams interested in parasitic infections.
Research Teams
Susanne Nylén Group - Immunology of host-parasite interactions
We are interested in understanding how host parasite interactions shape the host and the immune landscape over time and how this in turn affect outcome of infections and vaccination.
Recently we have also initiated investigations on drug resistance development in parasitic nematodes.
Akira Kaneko Team - Malaria elimination
Cooperating with endemic communities on islands in Vanuatu, Oceania since 1987 and in Lake Victoria, Kenya since 2008, Akira has studied the feasibility and sustainability of malaria elimination with the ultimate aim of proposing a community-directed strategy of sustainable malaria freedom and development towards global malaria eradication.
Ulf Ribacke Team - Molecular biology of host-parasite interaction
Our current research centers on increasing the understanding of host-parasite interaction and adaptation of importance for the pathobiology of parasitic infections.
