Research at the GUT unit primarily focuses on liver diseases, nutrition and metabolism, and gene regulation. Our work spans from basic molecular science to translational research, epidemiology, patient-centered and clinical studies, as well as disease prevention.

BEA - the core facility for Bioinformatics and Expression Analysis
BEA provides an extensive repertoire of genomic technologies to ongoing research projects principally at the Karolinska Institute but also at other Swedish universities. This includes services for genomic analysis based on the Illumina, Affymetrix, Agilent, and ABI platforms for sequencing, microarray analysis and qPCR.

Centre for Bioinformatics and Biostatistics (CBB)
CBB aims to be a natural partner for research groups located at Campus Flemingsberg with a need for assistance on bioinformatics or biostatistics.
The purpose of the centre is to coordinate existing competence and infrastructure and to function as a knowledge hub for bioinformatics and biostatistics for research groups in the area.

Centre for Nutrition
The Centre for Nutrition is a research centre at the Department of Medicine, Huddinge (MedH), Campus Flemingsberg. It explores how diet composition, dietary regimes, and nutritional supplements can be used to improve human health and longevity.

eHealth Core Facility - support for research and innovations in eHealth
Do you need support to conceptualise, develop, test and implement an eHealth tool or intervention? By choosing from a wide range of methods, we ensure the quality of your eHealth project, from idea to implementation. The eHealth Core Facility is a collaboration between three Departments at KI; MedH, CNS, and LIME.
