Core facilities and Centres at the Department of Medicine, Huddinge
The Department of Medicine, Huddinge (MedH), is hosting six core facilities and two centres at KI Campus Flemingsberg, providing service, recourses and competence to academic research.
Core Facilities
ANA Futura BSL3 Core Facility
The ANA Futura BSL3 Core Facility has three culture rooms for work with airborne pathogens, and a dedicated room for FACS sorting. This facility is a resource for academia, health care and industry.
Single Cell Core Facility of Flemingsberg Campus (SICOF)
The Single cell core facility for Flemingsberg campus (SICOF) is a state-of-the-art core facility that supports the Karolinska Institutet South Campus research community. The goal of SICOF is to facilitate the use of single cell/nuclei sequencing technologies for all researchers.
MedH Flow Cytometry Core Facility (FACS)
The MedH Flow Cytometry Core Facility provide researchers opportunity for assisted and non-assisted flow cytometry analysis and cell sorting.
BEA - the core facility for Bioinformatics and Expression Analysis
BEA provides an extensive repertoire of genomic technologies to ongoing research projects principally at the Karolinska Institute but also at other Swedish universities. This includes services for genomic analysis based on the Illumina, Affymetrix, Agilent, and ABI platforms for sequencing, microarray analysis and qPCR.
LCI - The Live Cell Imaging Facility
The Live Cell Imaging Facility is a light microscopy facility. We offer state-of-the-art microscopes and training to image cell and tissues, live or fixed. The Live Cell Imaging facility is open to all researchers.
eHealth Core Facility - support for research and innovations in eHealth
Do you need support to conceptualise, develop, test and implement an eHealth tool or intervention? By choosing from a wide range of methods, we ensure the quality of your eHealth project, from idea to implementation. The eHealth Core Facility is a collaboration between three Departments at KI; MedH, CNS, and LIME.
Centres
Centre for Bioinformatics and Biostatistics (CBB)
CBB aims to be a natural partner for research groups located at Campus Flemingsberg with a need for assistance on bioinformatics or biostatistics.
The purpose of the centre is to coordinate existing competence and infrastructure and to function as a knowledge hub for bioinformatics and biostatistics for research groups in the area.
Centre for Nutrition
The Centre for Nutrition is a research centre at the Department of Medicine, Huddinge (MedH), Campus Flemingsberg. It explores how diet composition, dietary regimes, and nutritional supplements can be used to improve human health and longevity.
