Admission to doctoral education - process for supervisors at the Department of Medicine, Huddinge
If you are to become a principal supervisor for a doctoral student at the Department of Medicine, Huddinge (MedH), the admission process is divided into five steps, explained here. The purpose of the admission process is to ensure that every doctoral student has the prerequisites for a high-quality doctoral education.
The admission process at the Department of Medicine, Huddinge, Step 1-5:
Step 1: Green Light – approval of a doctoral supervisor
The first step in the admission process for supervisors at the Department of Medicine, Huddinge and Karolinska Institutet, is to apply for a so called 'Green Light'.
Step 2: Establishment of doctoral position
The second step in the admission process after the approved Green Light, is for the supervisor to submit an application for the establishment of a doctoral position at the Department of Medicine, Huddinge and Karolinska Institutet.
Step 3: Recruitment of doctoral student
The third step in the admission process is the recruitment of a candidate, which begins once the establishment of a doctoral position has been approved.
Step 4: Admission to doctoral education and contract of employment
The fourth step in the admission process begins when the recruitment of a candidate has been finalized. The supervisor is then able to submit an application to accept the candidate to doctoral education at the Department of Medicine, Huddinge, and also arrange for a contract of employment.
Step 5: ISP – Individual Study Plan
The fifth step in the admission process is the establishment of a digital, individual study plan (ISP). The student also has to arrange a ISP seminar.
