TB READY | Social medicine, infectious diseases and migration (SIM)

TB READY aims to understand the impact posed by the COVID-19 pandemic on TB care in Nepal and explore various ways to a) overcome the challenges, b) make TB services accessible for local people, and c) rebuild a resilient TB services.

This study will evaluate the WHO TB-program indicators including case notification, treatment completion, and outcome data from March 2020 to July 2023. The data will be complemented by exploring barriers and facilitators to accessing and adhering or delivering TB treatment and services. We will use the data generated to make policy and practice recommendations concerning locally-appropriate interventions to address the impact of the pandemic and future crises.

The study is funded by the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, National Institute for Health Research, and the Farrar Foundation.
