Inequality in psychiatric care utilisation
According to the Swedish Healthcare Act, access to care should be on equal terms where priority is given to those with greatest need for health care.
Equity in utilization of mental health care means access to care based on need regardless of socio-economic factors or migration status. Yet, available evidence from Sweden and neighbouring countries suggests that there are existing differences in access to psychiatric care across socioeconomic factors. The aim of this research is to increase knowledge on psychiatric care utilisation and drivers of inequity in psychiatric care utilisation among migrant and migrant children.
