Research at the Department of Clinical Science, Intervention and Technology
All divisions at the department collaborate with clinics in the healthcare organisation within Region Stockholm
Menu for this area
Our research is conducted mainly in collaboration with clinics and associated laboratories at Karolinska University Hospital
CLINTEC:s research groups also have an extensive network of contacts and collaboration with other departments at KI, both at Karolinska University Hospital and the preclinical Campus at Solna. Other important partners are Stockholm University, the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) and the Swedish School of Sport and Health Sciences (GIH).
The research staff at CLINTEC is currently composed of 28 professors, 20 senior lecturers, 20 lecturers and a number of researchers, research assistants, postgraduates and PhD candidates. On top of this, many researchers and postgraduates employed by the Region Stockholm County are linked to CLINTEC for their research. The close coordination that exists between KI and the Region Stockholm is vital to the success of the research conducted in the clinical areas.
CLINTEC:s research is multidisciplinary and conducted in varied medical fields and a broad range of medical research is represented. From morphology, biochemistry, physiology and pharmacology, to technology, epidemiology and behavioural science as well as all clinical applications and purely clinical-orientated research. A general description of CLINTECs research field is therefore clinically and translationally orientated research in humans. Experimental and comparative studies are also represented. For a more detailed description, see each units own accounts of their research activities. This will also give an idea of the directions that research will be taking in the immediate.
Guidelines for Research Documentation
