Recap of the first Cancer Research KI PI Retreat 2024
From February 19th to 20th, 2024, Cancer Research KI hosted its first PI-Retreat, bringing together Principal Investigators (PIs) and group leaders engaged in cancer research at KI. The event aimed to foster extensive networking opportunities within the cancer research domain, broaden scientific perspectives, and catalyze collaborative efforts and funding ventures.
The two-day program featured a diverse array of activities including oral presentations, elevator pitches, roundtable discussions, and extensive networking opportunities designed to strengthen existing partnerships and opening the prospects for new ones. With 80 participants from 15 departments across both the Solna and Flemingsberg campuses, the retreat attracted researchers covering pre-clinical, translational, and clinical domains.
The retreat covered a wide spectrum of cancer-related topics, as depicted in the accompanying figure.
Overall, the retreat was deemed a success, underscoring its value in fostering collaboration and advancing cancer research initiatives.
