Departure information for tenants staying in KI Residence Solna
When your departure date (the last day of your contract) is near, you will receive an email with departure information. We ask that you read the information and follow the instructions below before your departure.
Preparing for departure
Your departure date (the last day of your contract) is near and we ask that you read the information below.
Before moving out, we ask you to follow the steps below:
1. Forward your mail
Remember to notify the bank, tax office and social authorities etcetera of your new address. Note that KI Housing will not forward any mail for you.
We recommend you to contact the Swedish tax Authorities in order to let them know that you will be moving out of your current accommodation. You can also contact the postal office PostNord and ask them to forward your mails.
2. Remove all personal belongings
Remove all personal belongings and garbage in your accommodation. If you have moved any piece of furniture, we ask you to return it to its original place.
3. Report any maintenance issues
If you have noticed any maintenance matters, damages or signs of vermin, we ask you to submit a maintenance service request in the customer portal.
4. Follow the cleaning checklist
Please note that departure cleaning is not included. You need to clean the accommodation properly and leave your accommodation in a satisfactory condition, ready for a new tenant. We ask you to follow the cleaning instructions in the cleaning instructions below. Note that the checklist differs depending on what kind of accommodation alternative you stay in.
Failure in following the cleaning checklist will result in our withholding part, or the total amount, of the deposit paid. SEK 500 per commenced work hour is charged.
5. Key return and time for departure
We ask you to leave your electronic key tag/tags in a key return box at Fogdevreten 13. The key return box is located on the main entrance floor, next to the entrance.
Please mark the electronic key tag/tags with your name and apartment number before returning them in the key return box. You can also place the key tag in an envelope marked with your name and apartment number.
Departure on a weekday: We kindly ask you to leave the apartment and return the key tag/tags to the key return box no later than 14.00 in the afternoon on the day of your departure (the last day of your contract).
Departure during weekends and holidays: Please return the key tag/tags to the key return box during the day of your departure.
Cleaning instructions – shared apartment
Room
– vacuum clean the floor, the mattress and the bed (including the legs)
– wipe off the doors and the furniture with a wet cloth
– clean the window board
– wet clean the floors including the skirting boards
– if you have moved any piece of furniture we kindly ask you to return it to its original place. Remember to remove all personal belongings and garbage.
Common bathroom
– wipe off the mirror
– Shower: clean the glass doors and the floor drain (remove the lid and clean underneath it). Scrub the tiled walls and floor.
– clean the WC and washbasin (inside and outside)
Common kitchen
– empty and clean your space in the refrigerator and freezer.
– clean the kitchen area including tiles, counter, cupboards, drawers, stove, oven, microwave, and kitchen fan
Common walk-in closet
– empty and vacuum clean the hanging wardrobe
– vacuum clean and wet clean the floor and skirting boards
– wipe off the shelf with a wet cloth
– remove your belongings from the medical cupboard and wipe it off
Cleaning instructions – studio
Room and hallway
– vacuum clean the floor, the mattress and the bed (including the legs)
– wipe off the doors and the furniture with a wet cloth
– clean the window board
– wet clean the floors including the skirting boards
– if you have moved any piece of furniture we kindly ask you to return it to its original place. Please remember to remove all personal belongings and garbage.
Bathroom
– wipe off the mirror

– remove your belongings from the medical cupboard and wipe it off
Cleaning instructions – studio with shared kitchen

– vacuum clean and wet clean the floor and the skirting boards
– wipe off the shelf with a wet cloth
– remove your belongings from the medical cupboard and wipe it off
Shared kitchen
– empty and clean your space in the refrigerator
After departure
Final inspection
A final inspection of your accommodation will be made by KI Housing after your departure.
If there should be any damages or cleaning needs in your accommodation or any other outstanding fees, KI Housing will deduct those costs from the deposit after your departure.
If the outstanding fees are larger than the deposit paid, you will receive an invoice with the remaining amount.
Deposit return
If you have paid a deposit upon arrival, the deposit will be refunded to you after departure if the keys are returned on time and the final inspection is approved.
Please note that your deposit will not be returned automatically. Please see the information below on how to reclaim your deposit.
How to reclaim your deposit
You need to submit the online deposit reclaim form at this link within two months after the day of your departure. When we have received the correct information (please see the alternatives on our website) your deposit will be returned within one month.
If you have not paid a deposit upon arrival, there is no deposit to be refunded. Please note that even if you have not paid any deposit, you are still bound to the conditions in the departure information. If the cleaning instructions are not followed, you might be invoiced for the cost of cleaning or damages.
