Forskningsbeskrivning
Min forskargrupp undersöker olika cellsignaleringfenomen och deras påverkan på kritiska biologiska och medicinska processer, både på cellulär och organisk nivå, med ett primärt fokus på neurovetenskap och cancer. Vi utvecklar innovativa vävnadsberedningsmetoder och använder oss av toppmoderna avbildningstekniker, såsom 3D light-sheet mikroskopi och spatial transcriptomik, tillsammans med avancerade analysverktyg som Fourier-transform och djupinlärning. Dessutom tillämpar vi moderna cell- och genetiska teknologier, inklusive iPS-celler, organoider, transgena djur, single-cell RNA-sekvensering och CRISPR-Cas, för att på olika sätt studera och manipulera diverse biologiska och medicinska processer. Vårt primära intresse är att belysa mekanismerna bakom intracellulär signalering och deras roller i utveckling och sjukdom. Ett viktigt mål för vårt arbete är att förstå hur celler reglerar och tolkar frekvensen och amplituden av intracellulära kalciumsvängningar för att samordna essentiella biologiska funktioner.
